What is hard work?

Hard work means completing a task in each period effectively. It is about putting in more strength and efforts. It needs physical strength.

What is smart work?

Smart work means completing a task effectively before a stipulated time. Smart work would be aiming for the same results but with planning and prioritization of tasks. It needs mental strength.

Difference between hard work and smart work?

Hard work is quantity over quality whereas smart work is quality over quantity.

Hard work is direct and linear whereas smart work is flexible and has an effective way of conveying.

When it come to time restraints, hard work might not be perfect way to achieve goals. Smart works aims at managing the given task more effectively. It can achieve goals within a deadline and without compromising the quality.

Smart work has a more integrated approach to tasks than hard work. Working smart includes having better judgment, knowing what component of the work takes the longest time, and trying to reduce it in a creative and rational manner.

Hard work involves commitment and seriousness.

Similarities between hard work and smart work

Hard work and smart work both are keys to success, and both are gives you good results as you want.

Smart work is the extension of hard work, without hard work smart work is not possible because hard work gives us experience whereas smart work comes from experience. So, until you have the experience you never work smartly.

Hard work as well as smart work both have equal importance like two sides of coin.

I will choose smart work over hard work. Smart work makes sure that we are not wasting our time in doing something that in end brings no profit. A smart worker believes in coordination and managing things.

Hard work and smart work go hand in hand. No one can use single task for achieving success. Without smart work we cannot decide goals and use best technology to achieve success and without smart work we cannot became consistent worker on our goals.

Advantages of Hard Work:

  • We feel self-satisfied after we get our desired outcome.

Advantages of smart work:

  • Smart work enhances our productivity.

  • It teaches time management skills.

Limitations of hard work and smart work

  • Hard work is boring and monotonous, at times.

  • It consumes a lot of time and effort.

  • Hard work does not allow us to fully use our brain and as a result, we put more physical efforts.

  • Working hard is not enough to achieve our goals.

  • Smart work may make us lazy, as we get used to do less work and get more output.

  • Mere smart work may not yield results. “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” Hence, we cannot completely rely on smart work.

  • To work smartly, at first, we need knowledge about the work, which comes only with arduous work and experience.
